Kelli Giddish Reveals Benson & Rollins’ Ultimate Girls Night Out: “I Literally Think It’s… “

Kelli Giddish’s character Sergeant Amanda Rollins has seen it all on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit — and the actress believes she’s overdue for some rest and relaxation.

Giddish was on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday, January 20, and a social media post from the day before that teased the episode showed a segment in which SVU stars appear on-screen to ask the 45-year-old questions relating to her iconic character. It was reminiscent of a classic SVU interrogation scene.

One of the highlights of the talk show segment was Mariska Hargitay, who’s portrayed Captain Olivia Benson for 27 seasons and counting, asking her real-life friend a very important question. “I would like to know what would be the ideal girls night out for Benson and Rollins,” Hargitay said.

What would Benson and Rollins’ ideal girls night out be?

“I literally think it’s… it’s nothing,” Giddish said of what the perfect night out for Benson and Rollins would be. “Just sitting beside each other, just staring out at the same place.”

In other words, the crime-fighting duo could use some downtime in the worst way.

“Perhaps getting a head massage,” she added with a laugh.

“Perfect,” talk show host Drew Barrymore said. “Well deserved.”

Fans can catch Giddish, Hargitay, Ice T, and the rest of the stars of Law & Order: SVU every Thursday at 9/8c on NBC, with new episodes always available on Peacock the following day.

Giddish debuted on SVU back in the Season 13 premiere, “Scorched Earth,” and during a behind-the-scenes featurette on the 2011 episode, the star looked back on her first-ever SVU scene.

“It’s me seeing Captain Cragen and being very eager — eager beaver — to work,” she explained. “We go straight into the scene, and then we come back here, and you see me later, I get to meet Mariska for the first time.”

Giddish also gave fans insight into Rollins’ mindset, revealing that the character was looking forward to working alongside Benson.

“And my character is very familiar with [Benson’s] work and is very excited to be working here, you know, the best SVU unit in the country,” she continued in the featurette. “So, it’s a joy to see, to play that, you know? Because you are the new kid on the block, as well, so I got to play that throughout this whole episode.”
