EastEnders’ Bea faces robbery terror as she eyes up new job in Walford

EastEnders’ Bea Pollard starts her job hunt next week – and the unemployed newcomer soon becomes obsessed with the idea of working at the Minute Mart! Keen to set down some roots in Walford after being kicked out of her flat and reuniting with her old school bully Linda Carter, Bea eagerly begins a job hunt around the Square.

It’s not long before she’s disappointed though, as she unfortunately has no joy and her search comes up fruitless.

However, her luck soon changes when she bravely intercepts a shoplifter at the Minute Mart and stops them in their tracks, sparking the bright idea that she should apply to work there with her new mate Honey…

“Linda and Elaine’s patience with Bea is already wearing thin – it’s a miracle that they’ve let her bunk-up in the boutique B&B for as long as they have,” says our Albert Square source.

“Nevertheless, Bea is determined to stick around, so she needs to secure herself a job and a permanent place to live. She reckons working with Honey will make them besties in no time – and they’re actually more alike than they may think…”

Later, Honey clocks into her shift at the Minute Mart – but when she arrives, she’s aghast to discover two troublesome teenage girls trashing the shop.

Coincidentally, Bea walks into the chaotic crime and tells the girls to sling their hook, before helping frazzled Honey to tidy up the mess they left behind. Bea reaps the rewards of her selfless hard work too, as manager Vinny is very impressed by her diligence…

“Single lady Bea’s persistence with womaniser Max may not have paid off, but hanging around the corner shop certainly does,” remarks our insider. “She may be a bit wacky, but it seems as though Bea has a good heart and Vinny can see that.

“With her mysterious messy past though, only time will tell whether she’ll keep up the hard work once her foot is in the door, or whether the do-gooder façade will slip…”

Will Bea’s gesture of goodwill secure her the job of her dreams, and in turn cement her as a Walford resident? Or has the down-on-her-luck lady stayed her last night on the Square?
