The actress is currently best known for playing Cassie Plummer in the ITV soap, having joined back in 2023 as the character, who was revealed as the long-lost mum of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and estranged daughter of Evelyn Plummer (Dame Maureen Lipman).

But Claire actually shot to fame in the role of Lindsey Corkhill, the daughter of already established regulars Jimmy and Jackie, in the now-defunct Channel 4 soap, Brookside.

She initially joined as a recurring character from 1991 and then as a leading character from 1995. The soap star then starred in the Liverpool-based programme, set around a cul-de-sac, until the final episode was broadcast in November 2003.

She went on to present TV programmes, take on roles in stage musicals and appear in several reality TV shows, including Celebrity Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing.

Over her 30-year career, Claire has made a number of friends in the industry, including a number of soap stars. Taking to Instagram this week, she shared a photo of herself and Jessie Wallace, who is best known for playing Kat Slater in BBC’s EastEnders.

Alongside the post, the mum-of-one wrote: “Corrienders ….. the crossover nobody expected [crying laughing emoji]. Mates for over 20 years. Love you @jessie.wallace_official you make me laugh so much [heart emoji].”

It comes after she shared another snap of the pair alongside DJ Fat Tony as they joined a number of his showbiz pals, including singer Boy George and presenter Davina McCall, as he celebrated his 60th birthday at Soho Mews House in London on Tuesday (November 25).”
