EastEnders’ Jean confesses to stalking Zoe – but another Slater is the real villain
EastEnders finally seems to be wrapping up Zoe’s stalker storyline, but while Jean is confessing to the crime, another Slater is ‘unmasked’ as the true culprit after being caught in the Vic
EastEnders’ Zoe Slater has been through hell recently, with someone stalking her – and while Jean has confessed to the crime, another suspect was caught red handed.
In scenes airing in Monday’s episode (1 December), Zoe is celebrating turning on the Walford Christmas lights with the other residents until she notices that someone has written “Die” in red Christmas lights on a window in the Queen Vic
As the news spreads, Lily Slater notices that her grandmother, Jean, who openly hates Zoe, was in the right place at the right time to have strung up the lights. She confronts Jean, who then confesses to wanting to get rid of Zoe and stalking her.
Jean has been accused of stalking Zoe before, as one of her earrings was found near the barrel store after a hateful message was scrawled on the door. But at the time, Jean denied it.

Despite her confession, it seems Jean may not be the real culprit, as Zoe returned to the scene of the crime to find the exact same lights in the bag of her half brother Tommy Moon.
Tommy was the one who brought Zoe back to the square after 20 years away. Earlier in the year, he tracked her down after hearing that she had resurfaced.
He brought her back to Walford under the pretence that he could give her some money to take them both to Spain, but texted his mother, Kat, to let her know they were arriving, so that she could see Zoe.
Now, it seems he may want her gone as he has been caught with the red lights used to torment his sister. Some fans noticed that he has been cold to Zoe for some time now.
“He’s been acting very cold with Zoe recently – see the way he acted when Zoe defended him against the Walford teens,” one said, referencing a moment when Zoe told off Nugget for bullying Tommy after Joel’s arrest.
Others agreed that Jean’s confession was not believable. “I’m not buying that she’s Zoe’s stalker either – she isn’t capable it’s more likely Tommy or Lily.”
Another added: “Surely Zoe’s stalker can’t be Jean – I know she’s erratic right now and she’s on the edge of a breakdown but Jean isn’t capable of that sort of thing.”
