As the Christmas TV schedules begin, Coronation Street fans will need to keep up-to-date with when the ITV soap will be hitting the airwaves.
One of the treasured TV traditions at Christmas is the festive soaps, with huge and dramatic storylines hitting the screens across soaps such as Coronations Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders.
However, with Christmas schedules coming into play, soaps have been forced to shift from their usual slots. Coronation Street is one of these soaps that have been shifted in the schedules.

When is Coronation Street on over Christmas?
The Coronation Street Christmas schedule from Monday, December 22 until Friday, January 2 can be found below:
- Monday, December 22 – 8pm
- Christmas Eve – 8.40pm
- Christmas Day – 7.15pm
- Boxing Day – 7pm
- Monday, December 29 – 8pm
- Tuesday, December 30 – 8pm
- New Years’ Eve – 8pm
- New Years’ Day – 8pm
- Friday, January 2 – 8pm
Coronation Street will return after this on Monday, January 5 for both a standalone episode and the highly-anticipated Corriedale episode. Coronation Street will air at 7.30pm before the crossover episode with Emmerdale airs at 8pm that same evening.
The Corriedale special is helping to launch ITV’s new ‘soap power hour’, which will see both Coronation Street and Emmerdale move to a new slot in the ITV schedule. From Tuesday, January 6, both soaps will air half-hour episodes every weeknight, with Emmerdale airing at 8pm and Coronation Street siring at 8.30pm.
