‘Yellowstone’ Actor Hints Long-Awaited ‘6666’ Spinoff May Not Happen

For fans of the ever-expanding Yellowstone universe, one of the most anticipated spinoffs may now be on uncertain ground.

Actor Jefferson White, who portrayed Jimmy Hurdstrom on Yellowstone, recently suggested that the long-rumored spinoff 6666 may no longer be moving forward — or at least, not anytime soon.

When asked by The Daily Mail whether he would reprise his role in the planned series, White responded plainly: “Not that I know of now.”

“Fingers Crossed,” but No Updates

While White didn’t close the door entirely, his comments made it clear that communication around the project has gone quiet.

“I kept my fingers crossed, but also, I’d be grateful if I got to do more and I’m grateful for what I got to do,” he said. “I don’t want to be selfish. We got a lot of great mileage out of that show.”

What ‘6666’ Was Supposed to Be

Paramount first announced 6666 in February 2021 as part of the growing Yellowstone franchise created by Taylor Sheridan. The series was set to follow Jimmy after his departure from the Dutton Ranch, centering on life and work at the historic Four Sixes Ranch in Texas.

The real-life ranch holds deep significance in Western culture. Sheridan purchased the 266,000-acre property in 2022, marking its first sale since its founding in 1870. For more than a century, the Four Sixes Ranch had been controlled by the same family dynasty, making the acquisition a major moment in both ranching and entertainment history.

Given its authentic cowboy roots and Jimmy’s storyline, 6666 was widely expected to lean heavily into real working ranch life — a tone many fans were eager to see explored more deeply.

The Yellowstone Universe Keeps Expanding — Just Not Everywhere

Although 6666 appears to be stalled, the Yellowstone universe is far from slowing down.

Several spinoffs remain firmly in development:

  • Y: Marshals, centered on Kayce Dutton, is slated to premiere on CBS in March.
  • A Beth and Rip-focused spinoff — rumored to be titled The Dutton Ranch — is also in the works, with a projected 2026 release date.

Still, for now, 6666 appears to be the quietest project of the bunch.

Where Things Stand

As of now, Jefferson White says he’s heard “crickets” regarding 6666. While that doesn’t definitively mean the series is canceled, it does suggest that the once-hotly anticipated spinoff may no longer be a priority — or could be quietly shelved altogether.

For fans who hoped to see Jimmy’s story continue against the backdrop of one of the most legendary ranches in the West, it’s a wait-and-see moment — fingers crossed.
