Carla Connor’s fate on Coronation Street has been teased amid her hostage ordeal at the hands of Becky Swain.

Actress Ali King has teased the big crossover episode with Emmerdale, dubbed Corriedale. It’s now been confirmed both Carla and Becky are in the episode, with Ali telling the Mirror and other press what fans can expect.

She remained coy on the spoiler front, revealing her initial reaction to the episode as she teased Carla’s fate. After reading the scripts, she was left wondering how they would pull off the big twists planned.

Ali shared: “[I was hoping for] nothing for Carla. I was just thinking what is this, what on Earth is this? There’s no words it’s just one thing after the other and [I was like], ‘how on Earth [are we] gonna do it?

“Obviously I hoped I’d still be alive at the end of it and I got to the end. I was like yes I’m not even maimed, but maybe a little bit. I was just thanking goodness it was Duncan Foster because he is like our best friend.”

She went on: “Honestly we knew as soon as Duncan was in charge, because I know him, he’s got everything written out in his head and then no matter what the weather threw at us or anything like that, he just made every frame by frame work. He’s as cool as a cucumber.

“You just we just have to trust in him really and I sat and literally stalked him for the whole three weeks didn’t I?” Conversation quickly turned to keeping the secrets of the episode under wraps.

Ali hinted she may have told some people what goes down, as Emmerdale actress Emma Atkins wasted no time in admitting the same. Ali shared: “You obviously don’t tell anybody who’s going to tell anybody, do you?”

Emma revealed, of big twists and turns: “I usually ring my mum straight away. I’m not very good. No, I am great. We didn’t sign an NDA anyway, so we’re fine.”

Their Corriedale co-stars Jack P Shepherd and Danny Miller, who play Corrie’s David Platt and Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle, admitted they spoke to each other as soon as the episode was revealed. Ali hinted Danny also messaged her about it.

It seems the cast were excited to find out more, wanting any gossip on offer. Jack confessed to Danny: “I think when we first heard about the ep, me and you were voice messaging each other going, what happens? Do you know what happens?! What have you heard?”
