All the Guest Stars You’ll See on Law & Order’s Episode “Never Say Goodbye”
The goosebumps have been non-stop as Season 25 of Law & Order continues to deliver a blood-curdling lineup of iconic guest stars.
How to Watch
Watch Law & Order Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.
Season 25’s “Never Say Goodbye” was an emotional rollercoaster as the steadfast 27th Precinct tackled the mind-boggling shooting and murder of a retiring pilot, Mark Turner. As Detectives Vincent Riley (Reid Scott) and Theo Walker (David Ajala) soon learned, Turner worked for the FAA and had produced a report regarding the crash and death of a pilot named Brian Leavy. Turner had ruled the death a pilot error, devastating Brian’s widow, Kate Leavy.
As the squad investigated Kate, they soon discovered that she had spent hundreds of hours speaking with an AI-generated avatar of the late Brian Leavy, who had led her to falsely believe that Brian’s death had been an FAA conspiracy. Kate killed Turner in a grief-stricken revenge, all because of the untamed limitations of Memory Branch, an AI app creating hyper-realistic simulations of deceased loved ones.
Law & Order‘s January 29 episode was a downright doozy as the detectives and attorneys tackled a heartbreaking and emotionally complex homicide case, with several dynamite guest stars weighing in on the action.

Emily Bergl as Kate Leavy

Emily Bergl guest stars as this week’s perpetrator, Kate Leavy, the grief-fueled widow of Brian Leavy. After hours spent talking to an AI-rendered avatar of her husband, a paranoid Kate painted Turner as Brian’s Grim Reaper, concocting a plan to murder him in revenge for his FAA verdict. The AI app heavily influenced Kate’s actions the night of Turner’s death, leading to a modern courtroom showdown that tested all of the 2-7.
Bergyl has appeared across a wide variety of film and television projects, first carving out a niche as a dramatic actress with her debut in the 1999 film The Rage: Carrie 2, and later in series like NYPD Blue, ER, and Taken. Some of Bergyl’s other notable roles include playing Francie Jarvis in Gilmore Girls, Annie O’ Donnell in the drama series Men in Trees, Beth Young in Desperate Housewives, Sammi Scott in Shameless, and Tessie in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
“Never Say Goodbye” wasn’t Bergyl’s first rodeo in the precinct, either. Bergyl guest-starred in not just a 2006 episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, but also a 2015 episode of Law & Order: SVU, proving she always delivers the goosebumps.
Eisa Davis as Attorney Virginia Hogan
Eisa Davis guest stars as Kate Leavy’s defense attorney, Virginia Hogan, a role Davis has recurred in recent seasons of the NBC nail-biter. After realizing the AI company had exploited Kate’s grief, Virginia tried to work through legal loopholes to see Kate’s release, making progress with the courts. However, after Kate confessed in the courtroom to killing an innocent man, there wasn’t much Hogan could do for her client.
Davis rose to stardom in the early 2000s, with one of her first television appearances as Vera Galeano in a 2003 episode of SVU, and she went on to land guest spots on procedurals like The Wire, The Blacklist, and The Good Wife. Some may recognize her for her role as Addy Pickett in the series Hart of Dixie or as Cynthia Driscoll in the hit drama series House of Cards, but she’s held other recurring roles in series like Blindspot, The Looming Tower, Rise, and Succession. Aside from recurring as Hogan on Law & Order, some of Hogan’s recent projects include notable roles in hit series like Mare of Easttown, Betty, and Kindred.

Scott Adsit as Brian Leavy
Scott Adsit guest stars on Law & Order Season 25 as Brian Leavy, a pilot who died in a plane crash that launched grief-fueled pandemonium after his widow, Kate, fell victim to Memory Branch, an AI app with realistic simulations of those who’ve passed away. Viewers were treated to several pop-ins from Adsit’s Brian Leavy, whose avatar conversed with Kate over video chat so naturally that it was as if he was still very much alive.
Adsit boasts a diverse career as a character actor across film and television, never failing to steal the show with his charm. Sitcom lovers likely recognize Adsit from his role as Pete Hornberger in the Emmy-winning NBC series 30 Rock, where he starred in all seven seasons. Adsit is a primetime juggernaut, guest-starring in series like SVU, Malcolm in the Middle, Monk, and The Office before making his way to Rockefeller Center. Since sharing the screen with comedy icon Tina Fey, Adsit has recurred in hit comedy series like The Goldbergs, Veep, Mr. Mayor, and Elsbeth.
Adsit is also applauded far and wide for his voice role as the beloved Baymax in the hit animated film Big Hero 6. That only scratches the surface of his time in the voice recording studio, however. Adsit has also voiced various characters for series like Morel Orel, Harvey Beaks, Megamind Rules!, The Mindful Adventures of Unicorn Island, and American Dad, to name a few.
Alexandra Neil as Claire Turner
Soap star Alexandra Neil guest stars in “Never Say Goodbye” as Claire Turner, the devastated wife of this week’s murder victim, Mark Turner.
Neil rose to fame as a soap actress in the late ’70s and early ’80s, starring in daytime series like Ryan’s Hope, Texas, and Another World. In the early 2000s, while starring on the beloved soap One Life to Live, Neil guest starred in a 2006 episode of Law & Order: SVU, and has made guest appearances across Season 8, Season 11, and Season 19 of Law & Order long before stepping into Claire Turner’s teary-eyed shoes. Some of Neil’s other notable television guest appearances include The Sopranos, The Blacklist, Madoff, and Blue Bloods.
