From the cafeteria, Hayley calls Bill to tell him she’s running late. He’s at the club.

They discuss tea and how she won’t let anything toxic in his body.

She disconnects and thinks that’ll keep him off her ass.

She asks Randy for a double of the special order.

She wants to rush this but Randy tells her it has to look natural.

She complains that her husband is unable to keep his mind off his “rusty, dusty ex.” She asks for his guy’s credentials, and Randy laughs at her.

He reminds her if Bill drops dead tomorrow, she’ll be suspected.

She’s worked too hard to set the con up and can’t let it fall apart. He asks why they’re meeting there and she says she knows Joey doesn’t have cameras there.

She tells her cuz she’s the brains behind their operation.

Bill’s attracted to Dani being a hot mess and she wishes she’d known before she decided on being sweet.

She’ll come up with a way to keep them apart.

Bill lurks at the door of the club, watching Dani and the kids.

Dani confronts him and he says he heard their laughter but doesn’t want to interrupt.

He’s waiting on Hayley. Dani invites him over but he declines and she goes back to the sofas.

Dani goes back to her kids, and they tell her about the faux turkey dinner.

Chelsea had mashed rutabaga with dairy-free cheese sauce.

Dani pulls a face as they discuss the vegan dinner.

Bill wanders up and assumes she had a fire at her place and mocks her, knowing she can’t cook.

Jacob and Derek get a drink at Uptown. Derek’s friends call him over.

They ask him whose chilli sauce is best before Sheryl appears.

Derek smiles brightly at her, and everyone goes around with their opinions.

Sheryl gives Derek a double entendre that his chilli leaves your lips tingling.

The chilli debate goes on for a while until he toddles off to be with Jacob.

The guys discuss his wounds over Ashley and how she’s been gaslighting Derek.

The firefighter admits Andre told him. He stares at the other table as he admits he wants to hate Ashley for it but can’t.

He admits that Sheryl came on to him and what went down.

He stopped it because he couldn’t help thinking of his ex.

It was a mistake. They laugh as he admits it was a fun one. He’s not ready for more.

Jacob thinks getting involved with a coworker can be dangerous.

Sheryl comes over and introductions are made. They discuss the softball game Derek’s missing out on.

He feels maudlin and once she’s gone, Jacob calls the woman fire and drags Derek over to their table.

They joke around about firemen bringing heat while cops bring tickets and Jacob gets everyone a round of beer.

Ashley seems depressed as she puts her Tide and laundry away in the cupboard before Jan arrives to invite her to WinterFest as her plus-one.

Jan notices that Ashley is in her PJs and looking sullen.

She whines, and her mom tells her she shouldn’t have proposed to Derek if she didn’t want to get married.

Ashley shifts the blame to Derek for his lies.

Jan doesn’t dispute that but knows Derek could tell her friendship was deeper with Andre.

Ashley yells that she felt sorry for Dreek, which is why she proposed.

She’s stunned at her outburst. Jan hugs her, and Ash admits it feels good and it sucks to be honest.

She didn’t want him to face being paralyzed alone.

Back at the cafeteria, Randy’s gone and Andre walks by. Hayley calls him over and tries to make him jealous by telling him Dani and Bill are hanging out together.

He’s bored and reminds her that he’s married to Dani and she’s off limits.

If she feels Bill’s eyes are wandering, she should step her game up.

Hayley has a plan. She thinks they should unite, but he’s not into that.

She calls him blind and asks him to take a mental picture of Dani and Bill. He’ll spot what she has. Annoyed, Andre takes off.

Back at the club, Dani admits to Bill that there was smoke and Chinese food.

Bill laughs and they tell the story of early on in their marriage when they went to a destination wedding.

The whole hotel almost burned to the ground, Bill says.

Dani says the model’s wedding was in the woods.

She flashes back to springing for a hotel because she couldn’t bear to stay in a tent. It was stormy out, and there was no light, but she brought candles.

She paints a picture and Bill says that’s not how he recalls it.

Dani wanted to make s’mores.

Dani cuts in and tells the kids she was toasting a marshmallow over a candle and the marshmallow caught fire, flew off the stick and got caught on a drape.

The sprinklers went off.

They two share a moment while Naomi and Chelsea gaze from their mother to their father.

The sisters go get drinks, and the exes reminisce some more. Naomi can’t believe their parents are acting the way they did before they divorced.

Chelsea likes it and they discuss how betrayed Naomi felt after the affair.

They both get the drinks and head back to the sofas where they try to control what their parents discuss. It doesn’t work.

They start reminiscing again until Andre arrives and tries to get rid of him.

Hayley arrives and Andre makes a show of kissing his bride.

The party breaks up and the siblings head to the cafeteria to complain about the situation.

They worry there’s something going on between their parents.

Something draws Dani to their dad. “It’s like she has Billdar,” Chelsea dopily says. Maybe Hayley can figure out how to keep them apart, permanently.

Dani and Andre get a table and he talks about getting buyers at the pop up.

Dani watches Bill’s table and lifts her drink as Bill gets served a burnt marshmallow.

As Bill laughs and Hayley makes out with him, Dani tells Andre the story about the marshmallow.

Andre doesn’t like her ex inserting himself into her life or that she’s planting seeds by sending him reminders.

Dani calls their past scorched and sticky.

She only wants Andre. They kiss with Bill watching and Hayley pouting.
