Coronation Street viewers are worried that Summer Spellman might be written out of the show – and they’re pointing fingers at Theo Silverton.

Theo (played by James Cartwright) was introduced earlier this year as Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) new romantic interest – and it wasn’t long before sparks started flying between them. However, it didn’t take long for Theo’s true colours to emerge.

Over the past few months, Theo has been manipulating and mistreating Todd, attempting to control every aspect of his life. Initially, Theo’s abuse was primarily psychological.

However, things quickly escalated to physical abuse, including an instance where Theo forced Todd to eat a kebab and another shocking incident when Theo smashed Todd’s face into a mirror.

Moreover, just a few days ago, Theo drove Todd miles away and left him to walk home in freezing temperatures without a coat. This week, after Theo challenged Todd to prove his love for him, Todd proposed marriage to Theo – who accepted, reports the Daily Star.

Todd’s loved ones were thrilled about the engagement, including his stepdaughter Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby). However, his friend and former partner Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) began to suspect something was amiss.

In Thursday’s episode (January 1), Billy and Summer visited Todd and Theo’s flat to discuss their wedding plans – with Summer expressing her desire to be Theo’s bridesmaid.

However, after Summer accidentally spilled a cup of tea on the carpet, a frightened Todd hurriedly ushered Summer and Billy out, before being compelled by Theo to clean up the mess.

Then, feeling humiliated by Summer’s bridesmaid remark, Theo vented his frustration on Todd and savagely attacked him while he was lying on the floor.

But now, with Billy’s departure expected to air in the coming weeks – and fans speculating that Theo could be the one to kill him off – other viewers are worried that a surprise death might be in store for Summer instead.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan group, one person speculated: “What if Summer gets caught up in between then and Theo and Todd and Theo accidentally murders her.” Another person agreed: “That could happen.” A third added: “I do think something will happen to her as well as Billy tbh.” Another distraught viewer wrote: “That would be so sad.”
