Coronation Street fans ‘rumble’ Billy Mayhew’s exit plot and he doesn’t die

Coronation Street’s baddie Theo Silverton is on a collision course with a fatal fate, according to fans who’ve picked up on a telling hint.

Ever since Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) started seeing Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) on the ITV soap earlier this year, viewers have watched as Todd has been whittled down to a mere shadow of his former self.

Over recent months, Theo has systematically broken Todd down through a toxic mix of violence, manipulation and controlling behaviour.

Todd has become a bundle of nerves, yet he hasn’t confided in anyone about the distressing abuse he’s suffering at the hands of his boyfriend, Theo.

However, on Tuesday (30 December), it seems that one Weatherfield local has noticed a shift in Todd’s demeanour as his once-vibrant personality begins to fade.

Recent scenes on Coronation Street revealed that Theo discovered several of Todd’s crushes, ranging from renowned actor Andrew Scott to local entrepreneur Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), reports the Daily Star.

Incensed that Todd had dared to chat with his childhood crush, Theo hauled him off to collect a birthday cake for George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley).

Outside the bakery, Theo berated Todd for flirting with Nick and making a mockery of their relationship.

Todd was quick to defend himself, insisting he harboured no feelings for Nick and their conversation was purely platonic, but Theo wasn’t having any of it.

In a harsh twist, he made Todd trek home across Manchester while he drove the cake back to the party.

Upon his solo return to the party, Theo made quite the show of being the day’s hero with the cake rescue, which didn’t go unnoticed by Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), who was quick to question Todd’s absence.

Finding Todd’s jacket and phone, Billy set off to return them, only to be halted by Theo, who insisted that Todd would already be asleep.

Later on, Billy ran into a shivering and rain-soaked Todd after his long walk across town.

Despite Todd’s attempts to explain his lack of coat and phone, Billy wasn’t convinced and suspected Theo’s involvement, especially as he knew Theo hadn’t been as intoxicated as he claimed.

In an effort to show his support, Billy offered Todd a key to his flat in case he needed a place to stay. However, Todd declined Billy’s offer and continued his journey home.

Yet, Corrie fans are speculating that Billy has twigged that Todd is being mistreated, and he will take drastic action against Theo, potentially landing the vicar behind bars.

Daniel first graced the ITV soap as reformed vicar Billy Mayhew towards the end of 2014, and since then, he’s experienced his fair share of drama on the cobbles.

However, Billy’s tenure in Weatherfield is drawing to a close, as Daniel has confirmed his departure from the role after an 11-year stint. One fan took to X to speculate: “Billy is going to chin Theo. #corrie.”

Another chimed in with their theory: “I think Billy will kill Theo, then he will get life in prison, that’s how he goes out of Corrie.”

Over on Facebook, one viewer shared their thoughts: “I think Billy dies in Corriedale, but not sure”, while another countered: “Other way around…..Billy will do Theo.”

Adding to the speculation, another fan commented: “Billy knows something ain’t right with Todd, I reckon he ends up killing Theo”.
