Coronation Street Leanne’s baby’s father ‘revealed’ in pregnancy twist – but it’s not Ryan

Coronation Street viewers are predicting a Leanne Battersby pregnancy – but Ryan Connor isn’t the father.

Soap legend Leanne (Jane Danson) has been a staple on the cobbles since 1997 – rocking up with the rest of the Battersby clan, including sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor).

And over the years, Leanne has played a part in several big storylines; from shock affairs and sex work to drug abuse. However, Leanne’s had a seriously tough time in the past twelve months.

Last year, she was lured in, and conned, by a cult, The Insitute, and its leader Rowan (Emrhys Cooper). Then, Leanne was left devastated when she found out sister Toyah had slept with her then-fiancé Nick (Ben Price).

Despite Toyah and Nick calling it quits when the truth came to light, the pair rekindled things a few months later behind Leanne’s back again. In typical soap fashion though, Leanne found out – and was out for revenge.

Deciding to teach them a lesson, she framed Nick and Toyah for theft. However, her scheme didn’t go to plan and it soon backfired on her. She ended up getting arrested – with her trial taking place this week – and also damaged her relationship with Nick’s son Sam (Jude Riordan).

Since then, Leanne has spiralled, clearly struggling with loneliness as Toyah and Nick continue their lives as a new couple. This week though, things took a dramatic turn when a drunk Leanne made the moves on Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

Ronnie was quick to shut her down – but Leanne then turned her attention to Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott). And during Friday’s episode (January 24) it was revealed that the pair slept together.

And now, fans are convinced Leanne is going to end up pregnant. But in what would be a game-changing twist, viewers don’t think the father is Ryan. Instead, they reckon it could be Nick or Steve McDonald – who she is due to rekindle things with next week.

“Leanne pregnancy looming then,” wrote one person on a Corrie Facebook fan page. Someone else agreed: “100% calling it.” Another fan wrote: “Nick the father then?” Thinking Steve’s the dad, a third mused; “Hear me out but it could be Steve’s? Remember she stopped the night at his recently ‘on the sofa’.” Another viewer replied: “I forgot about that!“
