Coronation Street Summer's death 'sealed' after nine years in shock Theo twist

Coronation Street fans fear Summer Spellman could be set to be killed off – and Theo Silverton is to blame.

Theo (James Cartwright) made his debut earlier this year as the new love interest of Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Piece) – and it didn’t take long for sparks to fly between the pair. However, soon enough Theo’s true self and colours came to light.

For months, Theo has been manipulating and abusing Todd, in a bid to control every aspect of his life. To begin with, Theo’s abuse was mostly psychological.

But things soon turned physical including a time when Theo forced Todd to eat a kebab and another shocking moment when Theo smashed Todd’s face into a mirror.

What’s more, just days ago, Theo drove Todd miles away and made him walk home in freezing temperatures without a jacket. And this week, after Theo told Todd to prove to everyone just how much he loved him, Todd popped the question and asked Theo to marry him – to which he accepted.

Todd’s loved ones were over the moon at the engagement, including his stepdaughter Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby). However, his pal and ex Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) started to suspect something was wrong.

And in Thursday’s episode (January 1) Billy and Summer headed round to Todd and Theo’s flat to discuss their wedding – with Summer telling Theo she wanted to be his bridesmaid.

However after Summer accidentally knocked a cup of tea on the carpet, a petrified Todd ushered Summer and Billy to leave, before being forced by Theo to clean the drink up. Then, feeling embarrassed by Summer’s bridesmaid comment, Theo took his anger out on Todd and brutally beat him while he was lying down on the floor.

But now, although Billy’s exit is believed to be airing in the next few weeks – with fans thinking Theo could kill him off – other viewers fear a shock death is on the cards for Summer instead.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person mused: “What if Summer gets caught up in between then and Theo and Todd and Theo accidentally murders her.”

Someone else added: “That could happen.” A third chimed in: “I do think something will happen to her as well as Billy tbh.” Another heartbroken viewer penned: “That would be so sad.”
