Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd asks ‘have I given too much away’ over Corriedale spoilers

Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd asked ‘have I given too much away’ over potentially giving away Corriedale spoilers during an interview on live TV.
The David Platt actor and Emmerdale star Chris Bisson appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday morning (January 5) just hours before the historic ITV soap crossover got underway. Fans have been speculating for months what the dramatic night of television has in store for many fan favourite characters.
The one-off celebration of the nation’s two most-watched soap operas, which will see the residents of Weatherfield join forces with their Yorkshire neighbours in an action-packed hour of drama, marks the start of each show screening 30-minute episodes every weekday, Emmerdale at 8pm and Corrie at 8.30pm.
While the bulk of the plot is being kept under wraps, it has been confirmed that lives will be lost in a dramatic car crash. A trailer released by ITV sees Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) trying to take control as Carla Connor (Alison King) tries to make sure everyone is okay.
Among those injured is Shona and David Platt (Julia Goulding and Jack), with paramedics from both soaps trying to assess the bulk of the damage. With last year marking his 25th anniversary on Coronation Street, fans are once again worried about Jack’s character David, who was struck by a car last year.
During a joint interview with Chris, who plays Jai Sharma on Emmerdale, on Good Morning Jack was asked directly by presenter Susanna Reid on if David will make it out of Corriedale alive.

“I understand from the notes that more than one character is confirmed to die. Did you take lots, did you decide who it was going to be? Or was it your life in the hands of script writers,” she asked.
Delivering a stunning answer, Jack replied: “The grown ups upstairs, the producers and the executives, they decided and people go. My numbers come up, I’ve done 25 years, it would have been great to see the rest of 2026.
“Sadly tonight is the night. Have I given too much away there? I haven’t I?”
Met with stunned silence, Susanna quickly asked ‘is that true’ to which Jack cheekily responded with a firm ‘no’. A panicked Susanna noted: “I could feel the ITV bosses breathing down the back of our necks.”
Known for his hilarious sense of humour, Celebrity Big Brother winner Jack gave another hysterical answer when quizzed by Susanna and Ed Balls on what fans need to know before watching Corriedale.
Jack stated: “They don’t need to know anything. Watch Emmerdale at 7pm and Corrie at 7.30pm. They’re both on at 8pm.”
Attempting to bring the interview back on track, Chris noted: “It’s important you know what’s going on with each of the different soaps.
“We had a premiere of the Corriedale episode and I didn’t have a clue what was going on with the Corrie cast. It is important you catch up with both and it will be a brilliant watch.”
