EastEnders airs unexpected arrest after major death in devastating iPlayer release
EastEnders has aired an unexpected arrest as one major character dies in the brutal conclusion to Kojo Asare’s cuckooing storyline. With the truth about his ordeal out in the open, this week villain Okie returned to Walford and confronted Kojo in his home.
Okie began interrogating Kojo in today’s episode and demanded he confess what he told the police about him. He texted Harry from Kojo’s phone, urging him to come to the flat.
Struggling Harry was heading out to buy drugs, but when he saw Kojo’s message he rushed back to the Square to help his friend.
Okie’s questioning continued to escalate, and when Kojo finally hit back and shouted at him, Okie turned violent and pulled out a knife.
Harry walked in at that moment and was horrified that Kojo was being held at knifepoint. He acted quickly and tackled Okie, giving Kojo the opportunity to flee the flat.
A brutal fight ensued between the pair, and at some point, Harry picked up the knife from the floor.
When Harry later regained consciousness, he realised that he has accidentally stabbed Okie, and he desperately helped tried to help save his life – but there was nothing he could do.
Meanwhile, Teddy found frightened Kojo, who told him that Harry was in trouble in the flat with Okie. When Teddy rushed to the scene, it was too late, as Okie was already dead.
After Harry tearfully explained how Okie had died, his dad took control and said that they needed to get out of the flat.
The pair headed back to the house where the severity of the situation finally hit Harry. Nicola came home – with her own pregnancy secret hanging over her – and demanded to know what had happened.
Nicola vowed to fix things for Harry and was prepared to help cover up Okie’s murder. But Harry didn’t want to lie so asked his mum to call the police, or he would hand himself in at the station.
Teddy commended Harry for his bravery but agreed to go along with Nicola’s cover up to make sure that his crime is nothing more serious than self-defence.
But when Harry left the room, Teddy told Nicola that he had another plan in mind and was going to take the fall for his son.
Nicola urged her ex-husband not to take the blame, even offering to go to prison herself as justice for killing Shireen years back.
But Teddy remained firm on his decision and said an emotional goodbye to Nicola, before leaving the house and returning to the flat. He put his fingerprints on the weapon then called the police to confess.
As Nicola told Harry about his dad’s sacrifice, the police arrived in Walford and arrested Teddy – with the rest of the Mitchell family left devastated. Will Teddy be charged for Okie’s death?
