Making his decision was made more complicated when yesterday Ravi was carted off by the gang and given a vicious beating.

And then Ravi made a heartbreaking decision.

With Priya insisting they would face whatever was coming together as a family, Ravi told her no.

Instead he said he needed to keep her and the kids safe – and the only way to do that was to leave.

“We can get through this as a family,” she told him.

But Ravi said: “I think it’s better for you and the kids to keep on living here until I can get this sorted.

“I’m the problem, I need to go. It’s not safe for any of you to be around me right now.”

In emotional scenes he told his children: “I’m going to make things right and be someone that you can be proud of.

“But I can’t do that unless I know you’re all safe.”

He was then seen breaking down as he packed his bag preparing to flee Walford.
