EastEnders fans totally against Vicki and Zack getting together after shock kiss

EastEnders viewers have made their feelings very clear after Vicki Fowler and Zack Hudson unexpectedly shared a kiss this week, and fans are overwhelmingly not on board.

The moment came after a turbulent couple of episodes for Vicki, played by Alice Haig, who has been struggling emotionally since she was attacked by Joel Marshall last month.

Her already bad night took another turn on Monday (November 17) when she accidentally knocked Chelsea Fox’s date Damon to the ground, leaving him unconscious after he hit his head.

Earlier that same evening, Vicki had also discovered Damon was married, just hours after learning that Joel is pleading not guilty to the assault. The series of blows left her shaken, and Tuesday’s episode picked up with Zack springing into action when Damon finally came around.

Zack, played by James Farrar, persuaded Damon not to report Vicki, calming the situation before it spiralled further. Later, he stayed with Vicki as she tried to process everything she’d been dealing with in recent weeks. One thing led to another, and in a twist few viewers saw coming, the pair shared a passionate kiss.

To make things even more complicated, Kathy Beale walked in just as the moment happened, and Vicki and Zack quickly tried to convince her that Sharon definitely didn’t need to hear about it.

Part of the shock factor for viewers comes from the pair’s complicated family dynamics.

While Vicki and Zack aren’t related, both are connected to Sharon Watts, who has recently moved to America. Sharon and Vicki are adoptive half-sisters through Den Watts and Sharon and Zack are biological half-siblings through their father Gavin Sullivan.

So although Vicki and Zack share no blood or legal relation, their link to Sharon made the romantic moment uncomfortable for many fans.

And viewers didn’t hold back online.

Could a Vicki and Ross reunion also be on the cards?
After a TikTok featuring actor James Farrar was posted on the BBC EastEnders TikTok account, fans flooded the comments to make their disapproval known:‘EastEnders, PLEASE don’t make Zack and Vicki a thing, we’re traumatised.’‘My jaw was on the floor in last night’s episode. If they got together, how would Sharron explain it? So Zack’s my brother and Vicki’s my sister, but they ain’t related propa dodge’‘Zack please leave Vicky alone!’

Many fans also pointed out that they’ve been hoping for Zack to reunite with Chelsea, rather than be paired with Vicki. Several comments pushed for the soap to steer the story back toward that direction instead:

‘He is so suited to Chelsea! EE get them together!’

‘We asked for Zack and Chelsea, not Zack and Vicki that’s just so random and not needed.’Some viewers even went further, saying the storyline had put them off watching altogether, with several posts describing the kiss as ‘sickening’ and threatening to switch off if the romance continues.

Whether the kiss is a one-off moment during Vicki’s emotional spiral or the start of a longer storyline remains to be seen. With Sharon away in America, the fallout is likely to land back in Walford, and Kathy may not be the only person who ends up caught in the middle.

For now, though, it’s clear most viewers are firmly against a Vicki and Zack romance, leaving EastEnders with a potentially divisive pairing on its hands.
