EastEnders’ Max Branning and Cindy Beale have teamed up to make a secret plan involving the take down of Jasmine Fisher. Max and Cindy have avoided each other since discovering each other’s identity – following their passionate encounter on Christmas Day. But the pair have decided to join forces for a very important reason.

This week, Max has been trying to stop Oscar from leaving Walford with Jasmine, who is looking to make a quick getaway after killing her dad Anthony.

A confrontation unfolded between Max and Jasmine, as he threatened to tell Kat about her escape plan. In response, Jasmine lied and claimed that Max tried to kiss her.

Oscar stormed out of the pub in today’s episode, after hearing this accusation, as Max protested his innocence to his son. Max followed Oscar home, and Lauren and Cindy were filled in on the situation.

While Max was asked to leave, Cindy revealed that she believed him, and Lauren later told Oscar she doubted that their dad would do this.

Meanwhile, Kat began to suspect that Jasmine might have been lying about the kiss, amongst other things. She made a secret call to Jean, who recently left the Square to stay with Lynne after suffering from a bipolar episode.

Kat hoped that Jean had changed her mind about Jasmine, but Jean remained firm and doubled down on her theory that the teen killed Anthony.

She said that if she could do things differently, she would play the long game and befriend Jasmine – so Kat decided to do the same with her granddaughter and pledged not to let her out of her sight.

Elsewhere, Lauren reached out to Oscar once more, asking him to give Max a chance and encouraging him not to run away with Jasmine. She told her brother to trust his gut – so he phoned Jasmine and confirmed that he wanted to leave.

Lauren stormed over to the pub and confronted Jasmine about her lies. Kat jumped to her defence and assured her that she would do anything to protect her but was clear that she was hiding her suspicions.

Outside, Jasmine hit back at Cindy and threatened to get the Fords involved if she continued to fight against her.

Cindy then arranged a secret meeting with Max, and the pair vowed to find a way to get rid of Jasmine once and for all.

“She might be the sequel, but I’m the original,” she declared. “And whatever we come up with, that nasty little problem child will never see it coming.”
