EastEnders to revisit historic Zoe romance as sinister stalker plot escalates

EastEnders’ Anthony Trueman offers his support to Zoe Slater next week, as her stalking nightmare continues. With Zoe still convinced that someone on the Square is out to get her, Anthony provides her with a shoulder to cry on and the pair share a drink.

But when Zoe later heads over to Anthony’s place to thank him, might the exes be about to fall back into each other’s arms?

“There’s so much history between these two,” our Albert Square source reminds us. “And you can tell by the way Anthony looks at Zoe that he’s never stopped caring about her!

“It’s no wonder he’s the one on hand when she needs a friend to lean on – but are they both hoping to move out of the friend zone and into something more?”

Anthony’s support comes as Zoe’s family continue to butt heads with her over her mystery stalker. This week, Alfie reached breaking point and demanded that Zoe move out, convinced that she was carrying out these threats herself.

However, Alfie admitted he was wrong after a sinister message was discovered in the barrel store that Zoe simply couldn’t have penned.

Zoe was sent spiralling once again when an earring was found near the scene of the crime, potentially belonging to her anonymous tormentor. She accused Vicki again – but Kat and Alfie were later left stunned when they realised that it actually belonged to Jean.

Next week, Kat and Alfie are plagued by nuisance calls, both to The Vic landline and their personal mobile numbers, and they’re at their wits’ end over the situation.

Zoe’s certain she’s figured out who’s behind the harassment and shares her theory, but her loved ones are quick to dismiss her suspicions.

However, the situation takes another turn when Zoe finds a Christmas card left for her in The Vic, containing a threatening message…

“It’s clear Zoe is living in fear!” says our insider. “She’s determined to find out who’s tormenting her, with or without the help of her family. But could the culprit be closer to home than anyone imagined?”
