GH Recap: Sidwell Shoots (Spoiler), Jason Gets A Shock And More

Rocco (Finn Carr) may not have been seen in the November 19 episode of General Hospital, but everyone was talking about him and the lab break-in. Laura’s (Genie Francis) found out if her outburst defending her grandson cost her the election; Jason (Steve Burton), Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) agreed to let Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Ric (Rick Hearst) represent Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) to bolster Rocco’s case. The drama certainly didn’t stop there, as after Josslyn (Eden McCoy) got a drunken confession out of Dalton (Daniel Goddard) and WSB Agent Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) broke up an argument between the professor and Emma (Braedyn Bruener), Sidwell (Carlo Rota) shot his employee for the mess he’d caused! Keep on reading for all the details.

Victory Lap

Jordan dropped by to see Laura, who was still worried that she might lose the election after her altercation with Dalton, especially with Ezra Boyle in the lead. They then discussed how their plan for Jordan to uncover Sidwell’s illegal activities hadn’t been very productive, and Laura apologized for leaving her friend without a job to come back to if she lost the election. Drew then arrived to gloat about Ezra being ahead in the vote count and to make sure Laura was working on her concession speech. After Jordan accused him of not caring for the people of Port Charles the way Laura did, the congressman instructed her to leave because he was there on official business and she was no longer employed by the city.

Once alone with Drew, Laura informed him that if she lost, it was up to him to protect the people of Port Charles. When Drew incorrectly assumed she had faith in him, Laura commented that she was appealing to the man he used to be. She then asked what his reason for visiting was, and Drew shared that he wanted her to endorse Ezra in her concession speech. Laura adamantly refused to support a man who was in Sidwell’s pocket. At that, the congressman flashed back to Sidwell telling him that he needed a politician at his beck and call — and that Drew now worked for him. Back in the present, Drew claimed that Sidwell was a civic-minded businessman with a spotless record, and that Sonny would be forced out of town once Measure C passed. Laura spat that she didn’t believe Drew’s interest in Sonny’s piers was about town safety at all, but rather spite against Sonny, Jason, and Michael. Drew maintained that appointing her former son-in-law as police commissioner made Laura no better than him when it came to using her position to promote her personal interests. Jordan then returned, announcing that the race was about to be called. To Drew’s chagrin, Laura was the winner! Jordan and Laura celebrated with a hug and as Jordan cooed, “Four more years,” Drew looked gobsmacked.

All Aboard

At the PCPD, Charlotte and Danny agreed to help Alexis turn the tables on Dalton. The lawyer asked Nathan for his opinion on the confession he’d recorded, and the detective felt the teens would make good witnesses. Next, Alexis told Jason about her conversation with Nathan and asked if he was still okay with Danny turning himself in.

Meanwhile, in the interrogation room, Charlotte told Danny they should go over their story since they couldn’t use what they told Nathan earlier. Pointing out how Dalton already surprised them twice, Charlotte added that they had to make sure the professor paid for going after Rocco. When she suggested claiming that Dalton hit Rocco, Danny didn’t think it was a good idea they lie under oath, but changed his mind as long as they could be convincing. Then, Charlotte launched into a faux confession that included how afraid she was when Professor Dalton hurt her little brother. Impressed with her performance, Danny chuckled, “Your parents have no idea how much trouble you are, do they?” With a sly smile, Charlotte replied that the information was on a need-to-know basis.

Upstairs, Sonny arrived at Dante’s office while Dante and Lulu were meeting with Ric, so the attorney brought his brother up to speed on the plan to twist the case around on Dalton. But without guaranteed success, Dante and Lulu didn’t want to take the risk that Danny and Charlotte might also be charged with a felony. Sonny urged his son to hear Ric out, since without testimony from Danny and Charlotte, they couldn’t refute Dalton’s claim. When Alexis entered with an update that Jason was on board with Danny confessing, Dante deferred to Lulu. Before making a decision, Lulu wanted to speak with Charlotte. Running into Nathan in the bullpen, Lulu confided that she was terrified she’d lose both her kids if things went south. Then, she made sure Charlotte was positive about turning herself in.

Reign It In

Sonny, Alexis, Ric, and Dante waited on word from Lulu and discussed how important it was for the forensics team to find evidence proving that Dalton trashed his office himself. Dante rushed out to check on the forensics team, but Alexis followed him into the hallway and cautioned him to keep his distance since the investigation involved his family. Back inside the office, Ric thanked his brother for supporting him, and Sonny replied that it wouldn’t mean anything until he delivered.

As Nathan, Jason, Charlotte, and Danny stood behind her, Lulu called Alexis with the news that Charlotte would join Danny in confessing. Jason told both teens he was proud of them for coming forward. Then, before sending them home, Nathan asked how they’d gotten the key fob to the lab in the first place. After sharing a look with Charlotte, Danny answered honestly, revealing that they took it from Britt’s purse. At the news of his sister’s involvement with Dalton’s research, Nathan closed his eyes, while Lulu and Jason both appeared surprised. Back upstairs, Alexis informed Dante that the kids would turn themselves in the next day, and hopefully they’d avoid a jury trial. In the hallway, Sonny wished they had a stronger case, and Ric warned his brother against doing anything to help their situation. When Sonny mused that without Dalton, there was no case, Ric replied that nobody needed to make Dalton disappear.

Prodigal Son

Leaving the hospital after visiting Ned, Gio confided to Emma that he was still upset about the way Dante came down on him, but understood why his father said what he had. Gio also wondered if Rocco felt the same way that Dante did; that he didn’t care enough about Rocco to protect his brother. Emma reminded her boyfriend that Rocco was the one who told them not to come forward, and that Dante didn’t know anything about him.

Booze Clues

Vaughn called Josslyn down to the Brown Dog, where Dalton was drinking at the bar, and suggested she use the professor’s inebriated state to question him about his research. As Vaughn watched from a booth, Joss worked the professor, and Dalton went off on a drunken rant about how he needed to do something after Rocco broke into the lab and the mayor treated him badly afterwards. Dalton also confessed that after what happened at his last university, he now does his animal testing off campus so as not to anger student animal activists. Still putting on an act, Josslyn complimented Dalton as a misunderstood visionary. He put his hand on Joss’s thigh and revealed that he has a secret lab that PCU knows nothing about. He elaborated that his lab is secluded, with no neighbors to hear the dogs barking, and that he keeps the animals sedated because he’s not a monster. Emma and Gio then arrived at the bar, and when Emma observed Joss with Dalton, she griped that Joss was a hypocrite for telling her to stay away from Dalton when she was having drinks with the professor herself. Managing to catch Josslyn’s eye, Dalton alerted her to Emma and Gio’s presence in a back booth, so she suggested to Dalton that they leave. “I’ve got this really comfy couch in my lab. You wanna go try it out?” Dalton slurred. Joss agreed, but before they could leave, Gio approached and asked her to join him and Emma so they could share some news.

Promising Dalton she’d be right back, Josslyn went to the booth, where Gio and Emma informed her that the professor had framed Rocco. Then, when Dalton stumbled over to the trio, Emma berated him for framing Rocco. Emma shouted that she knew Dalton was doing illegal and immoral tests on animals because she was the one who broke into his lab at his old school — and had masterminded the break-in at PCU. Dalton drunkenly ranted that he was going to have Emma locked up, too, and she tossed her drink in the professor’s face.

Stepping in before Dalton hit Emma, Vaughn flashed his WSB badge to the group and pulled the professor aside. After Vaughn instructed him to be at the station the following afternoon, Dalton stumbled out, and Vaughn exited behind him. Meanwhile, Gio was shocked to learn that Vaughn wasn’t a PCU employee, and Emma realized that the WSB had been investigating Dalton. Keeping her cover, Josslyn claimed that Vaughn had lied to her about being a WSB agent, but when Emma fretted that none of the mess she’d created had been necessary, Joss divulged that she’d been right: Dalton drunk-revealed that he has another lab where he’s conducting his animal testing. Before Joss left, Emma thanked her for the information she’d coaxed out of Dalton. Later, Emma rejoiced to Gio that Dalton was going to get what he deserved.

Once outside the bar, Josslyn was looking around as Vaughn stepped out from the shadows. First, he complimented her situational awareness, then the way she played Dalton. “So, you liked my technique?” she smirked. “I hated it,” he whispered, pulling her in for a kiss.

Silence Is Golden

At Wyndemere, Britt and Sidwell got into a tiff over her role in his organization, with him insinuating that he and his partner had saved her life by relocating her to the Five Poppies and providing her with medication — only asking for her to finish the work her father started in return. Britt countered by arguing that they gave her no choice in the matter since she was taken without her consent. Then, when Britt whined that Pascal nearly killed her when he’d strapped a bomb to her ankle, Sidwell volleyed back that she was rescued by Jason Morgan, who clearly had an interest in her… and wondered how much Britt had shared with him about her research. Britt insisted that Jason had no idea what she’s been working on, nor was he aware that it was her key fob that Rocco used to get into the lab. Instructing her to keep it that way, Sidwell snarked that Morgan would be very disappointed to learn that Britt had been working with him all along and reminded her once again that he was the one with the medicine needed to keep her Huntington’s in remission.

Britt acknowledged that Sidwell and his partner had her trapped, but she refused to let Dalton destroy Rocco’s life. Sidwell agreed, and just as Britt asked him how he planned to handle the situation, a drunk Dalton showed up, announced that the WSB was after him, and demanded that Sidwell get the agent to back off. Directing her fury at Dalton, Britt sneered that Sidwell needed to cut him loose after the way he lied to the PCPD, framed a teenager, and put the entire operation at risk. Agreeing with Britt, Sidwell sauntered over to a cabinet while a plastered Dalton babbled that he was an asset. Then, Sidwell calmly pulled out a gun and fired at Dalton from across the living room!
