GH Recap: The Hunt for Dalton Begins, Jack Turns on Vaughn, and More

Things got extra complicated in the November 24 episode of General Hospital. Laura (Genie Francis) defended Sonny (Maurice Benard) to Martin (Michael E. Knight), Rocco (Finn Carr) was having a rough time behind bars, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) began searching for a missing Dalton (Daniel Goddard), Jason (Steve Burton) tried to make amends with Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Carly (Laura Wright) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) continued clashing over Lucas (Van Hansis), Jack (Chris McKenna) made a shocking move against Vaughn (Bryce Durfee), and more! Here are all the details.

A Friend in Need

Laura steeled herself before entering her office and was surprised to see Sonny waiting for her. She worried about if it was a good idea for him to just show up, but Sonny reminded her they had to act normal. After they briefly discussed Rocco, Sonny noted that it wouldn’t be long before people noticed Dalton was missing, and asked if her car was okay. Laura grimaced as she said it was fine, but she couldn’t look in the trunk. Sonny promised her that the car had been scrubbed of any traces of the crime, and reminded Laura that nothing could link her to Dalton’s body because there wasn’t one. Laura revealed that she also searched her apartment to see if anyone had planted a weapon to frame her, but didn’t find anything.

Still, she worried that she had played into the killer’s hands by covering up the crime and suggested they put the body back. Sonny reminded her she had already lied to the cops when Nathan stopped to check on her, and insisted that Rocco was better off with Dalton dead. Laura fretted that she had a strong motive to kill the professor, but Sonny again pointed out that with no body, there was no crime. He advised her to act surprised when she inevitably finds out about Dalton’s demise. Just then, Martin barged in with flowers to congratulate his sister on her mayoral victory and was perturbed to see Sonny with her. Noting her connection to Sonny nearly cost her the election, Martin questioned them still spending time together. After explaining that they were discussing Rocco’s situation, Sonny excused himself.

Visiting Day

Dante visited Rocco at the juvenile detention facility to check on his son, and the teen protested that he didn’t belong there because he didn’t trash Dalton’s lab. Dante assured him that Danny and Charlotte were coming forward to back up his story, and Rocco panicked, not wanting Danny to get in more trouble that would make Drew continue to keep him away from Scout. Dante was proud of his son for trying to protect the other teens, but insisted that their confessions were necessary to prove Dalton was lying. He urged him to stay strong until his bail hearing tomorrow, and Rocco sadly wondered if he’d be out in time for Thanksgiving.

Later, Sonny paid Rocco a visit himself and upon seeing the bruises and cuts on his grandson’s face, he angrily blasted the guard. Rocco insisted it looked worse than it was, but Sonny wanted details, and Rocco suspected that he might have been targeted because his dad is a cop. He begged Sonny not to tell his father, and Sonny promised to protect him for however long he was in there. “If anybody messes with you,” he declared, “they’re messing with me.”

On the Case

At the police station, Justine asked Nathan if he’d seen Professor Dalton, because they were supposed to meet this morning, but he never showed. Nathan noted how odd it was for Dalton not to pursue this case, given how eagerly he had turned Rocco in, and Justine admitted she was starting to believe Dalton set the kid up and used her to do it. Given that their investigation didn’t back up Dalton’s claims, she wondered if the professor didn’t want to perjure himself.

Then Dante arrived, and Justine assured him that she was doing everything she could to resolve the case quickly. After she went back to work, Dante groused that she was probably looking for more evidence against his son, but Nathan revealed that he thinks she’s trying to get Rocco out. Dante was skeptical, but Nathan explained that the evidence worked in Rocco’s favor, which might be why Dalton didn’t meet with the assistant DA. Dante said he wanted to find Dalton immediately. Later, Nathan called Dante to say there was no sign of Dalton on campus, and, though his car was in the parking lot, he wasn’t in his room at the Metro Court. The detective also pointed out that Dalton has resources to disappear, but Dante vowed that wasn’t going to happen on his watch.

Here We Go Again

Britt was less than enthusiastic when Jason stopped by her room again to apologize for taking off last night. He insisted that he wanted to make things right. Britt dismissively declared they were good, but he again urged her to tell him the whole truth so that he would be able to help her. Britt bitterly told him she didn’t want his help, but Jason insisted that with her illness, one day she would need someone. Britt reminded him that she was in remission, but he pointed out that wouldn’t last forever. Jason then wondered if her work at the Five Poppies was something she had to do in order to stay in remission. Britt deflected that it was her life, so he didn’t get a say. And when he insisted she didn’t have to do this alone, she sighed, “Your actions last night suggest otherwise.” Jason admitted that he’ll probably let her down again because he’s not perfect, but vowed to prove that she could trust him. Just then, Nathan knocked on her door to ask if Britt had heard from Dalton because he seemed to have disappeared.

Who Can You Trust?

Back at Laura’s office, Martin warned his sister not to be blind to who Sonny really is, but she threw forging Monica’s will back in his face. He admitted it was a stupid scheme, but said it paled in comparison to the crimes Sonny commits every day. Comparing Sonny to Cyrus, Martin told Laura she was backing Sonny the way he always did with Cyrus, hoping that there really was something good inside him. Laura defended Sonny, insisting he had a sense of justice unlike their brother. Martin worried that she was going to be pulled down into Sonny’s world and cautioned that Sidwell wouldn’t like losing Measure C to them in the election and would make them pay. As Laura insisted that Sonny was a friend she could rely on, Dante interrupted to report that Dalton had gone missing, and she threw on her best shocked face.

Playing With Fire

Lying in bed after spending the night with Jack, Carly forced a smile onto her face when he woke up. He asked if she had any regrets about last night, but she insisted she’d made her choice. Jack professed that he never meant to hurt her by not telling her Vaughn was WSB, and promised to keep his work and her family separate. Carly excused herself to freshen up, and once she was in the bathroom, Jack’s expression turned grim. He made a call asking for an update. On the other end of the line, Josslyn looked at Vaughn beside her in bed before informing her boss that she’d made her mom mad but scored points with Lucas by siding with him over his moving into Wyndemere. Jack ordered her to catch up with Lucas this afternoon, and also to make up with her mother.

Carly returned, and when Jack noticed something was bothering her, Carly quickly covered and claimed it was Josslyn encouraging Lucas to move in with Marco. Jack didn’t feel it was his place to offer an opinion, but she pressed, so he suggested she should make peace with Josslyn and Lucas. Carly wondered if she should apologize if she didn’t really mean it, and didn’t understand Josslyn supporting Lucas. Jack urged her not to do anything to push Josslyn further away. “Thank you,” Carly said with a tight smile. “It means so much to me that you understand how important my daughter is to me.” Jack’s phone went off, calling him to work, and after he left to get dressed, Carly let out a deep breath.

Josslyn complained to Vaughn about how she feels bad for Lucas after everything he’s been through, and now he’s dating a shady guy and living with him and his even shadier father. Plus, she added, she and her mother had argued, even though she actually agrees with her. Vaughn reminded her that it was important to stop Sidwell and shut down Faison’s final project, but she lamented, “I just hate that somebody I love so much is gonna end up collateral damage. Especially when we both know Lucas could end up with more than just a broken heart.” She felt guilty for putting someone she loves in danger, so Vaughn assured her that if the moment came when she felt Lucas needed to be extracted and Jack didn’t agree, he’d back her. Joss worried that would put them in a lot of danger, but he said he was willing to take that risk for her and pulled her into a passionate kiss.

Agree to Disagree

At the hospital, Liz asked Lucas how living with Marco was going, and he explained that he feels Marco still blames Sonny for his mother’s death, which he understood, but didn’t agree with. He then flashed back to blasting Sonny for kidnapping Marco, but didn’t share that reason why Marco would hate the guy. When Lucas added that he’s also frustrated that Sonny has never paid for the bad things he’s done, Liz reminded him that there are a lot of people he cares about who also care about Sonny, so maybe he should take a step back and let Marco fight this battle himself. Liz suggested he could stay neutral while supporting Marco, and Lucas complained that Carly insists Marco is just using him.

Carly intercepted Josslyn outside the hospital to apologize for how she acted, but added that she wouldn’t stop worrying about Lucas. Joss understood, but they continued to be on opposite sides of the issue, as she thought they should support Lucas’s decision, but Carly didn’t think Lucas could trust Marco. Joss insisted that Lucas had made his decision, and she shouldn’t make him pick between his boyfriend and his sister. Carly wanted to make things right with Lucas, but wasn’t sure how to do it, so Josslyn suggested not ambushing him at work to apologize and give him some time. Carly agreed with that and assured Joss that even when they fight, she still loves her.

Busted!

Vaughn met Jack in an alley and reported that he expected to get the truth out of Dalton when they met later in the day. He explained how he sent Josslyn to help persuade the very drunk professor to spill all kinds of secrets at the bar. When he said he stuck around for backup in case things got dangerous, Jack questioned if that’s all he did. Vaughn tried playing dumb, but two agents suddenly appeared and grabbed his arms. “I warned you not to pursue a relationship with Josslyn,” Jack boomed as the young agent was dragged off. “This is what happens to people who disobey my orders.”
