GH Spoilers: Laura’s Friendship With Sonny Heats Up — And It Might Spark Trouble
General Hospital spoilers say Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has just won the mayoral election again, and when she least expected it.
If only she had the gumption and nerves to celebrate her win without flashbacks of seeing Professor Henry ‘Hank’ Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) dead body.
Laura’s life turned on a dime when her car broke down on the roadside and she found his corpse staring her in the face from the trunk of her car.
While it was made known that Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) was overseas, Laura could have called any number of other people, but instead she dialed Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Something in her apparently wanted Sonny to come scoop her up and make the problem go away.
In hindsight, she appears to be regretting that decision. Is that just because she’s struggling to live with the consequences of having to keep this secret, or could it be that she’s wishing she had made another call altogether?
Has the crow finally come home to roost on Laura’s relationship with the town mob boss?
Sonny Leaves Ruin in His Wake
Sonny may not be responsible for killing Dalton or stuffing him into Laura’s trunk, but the optics are going to paint a pretty poor picture of him anyway.
The last time Dalton was seen, he was drowning his sorrows at the Brown Dog Bar, where he left with WSB Agent Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) on his arm.
Now that the police recognize Dalton has gone MIA, it won’t be long before they discover something has run afoul.
Will they take one look at Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) sitting in jail and determine Sonny must be behind Dalton’s disappearance, and if so, how will that look for the newly re-elected Mayor?
GH Spoilers Suggest There Have Been Plenty of Warnings
Don’t forget, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) stopped to make sure Laura was okay on that roadside. Had he not been called away by work, he would’ve opened her trunk to quite the surprise.
Instead, Sonny had Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) take the body away, and Laura is wrestling with guilt over the most dishonest and dirty move she has ever made in her life — commissioning the disposal of a dead man’s body so she could keep her hands clean.
Should she have seen this coming? Many of her loved ones would say so, and have said as much.
There has been no shortage of people issuing caution to her for keeping such close ties with Sonny, and it appears the expiration date on their friendship may be nearing its end.
The Pot Calls the Kettle Black
Laura is none too happy with how Sonny had Jason handle the situation. At the same time, what exactly did she think was going to happen when Jason took her car overnight and returned it to her all cleaned up and Dalton-free the next morning?
Lying about her flat tire fiasco could land her and Sonny in hot water if anyone saw them. Further, it’s not that unlikely given that he body was planted there.
Someone could have been following her and just waiting to see how she would react. Someone like…Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
Laura might be ticked at Sonny’s way of doing business, but she’s now doing said business with him. Likewise, she may not like Sidwell’s way of doing things either, but she has less room to judge now than ever before.
Will Laura’s friendship with Sonny finally do her in if she is exposed for this crime and linked to potentially causing it and having the resident mob king clean it up?
