Coronation Street viewers have rumbled Debbie Webster’s “secret son” who is already on the cobbles. It’s been a busy time for the Chariot Square hotel owner in the lead up to her big day. After being diagnosed with dementia earlier this year, Debbie has had a tough time on the street in recent months.

However, things were looking up after Ronnie popped the all-important question. Debbie and Ronnie are set to tie the knot in a fabulous ceremony over Christmas.

Monday’s episode of the soap saw the female residents of Weatherfield get glammed up for Debbie’s glamorous hen doo while the men headed to Ronnie’s stag doo.

But at the beginning of the episode, viewers were taken into Debbie and Ronnie’s apartment. Michael and Ronnie were talking about James, who was invited to the stag do but it was revealed he couldn’t attend.

Michael said James was “too down in the dumps” to party with Ronnie and the lads. James recently said goodbye to his sister Dee-Dee, who departed the street with baby Laila during Friday’s broadcast.

Speaking about James, Ronnie said on Monday: “I know Laila wasn’t really his but it felt like he was.” He added: “I can’t imagine anything worse than to be parted from your kid.”

As he said the powerful line, the camera panned to Debbie whose smile dropped. Over the past few weeks, viewers have been predicting that Carl Webster is actually Debbie’s son, instead of her younger brother.

Actor Jonathan Howard first arrived on the cobbles as the charming yet manipulative Carl Webster earlier this year and has been at the centre of the drama ever since.

Jonathan’s soap debut was the first time the character of Carl Webster appeared on screen, rarely mentioned by his two siblings Debbie and Kevin. It’s fair to say that he wasted no time in ruffling feathers, having taken a shine to Abi Webster.

Having flirted up a storm following an altercation in Freshco’s car park, later, Abi was shocked to see Carl arrive at the Bistro, with Kevin and Debbie excited to see their little brother.

Soon after, an affair unravelled, leading to the end of Abi and Kevin’s marriage and a fracture in the Webster family. But it’s not just Carl’s love life that is damaging his moral compass, with Corrie fans horrified to see him using Debbie’s dementia diagnosis as a way to steal money from the hotel.

While Debbie is oblivious to Carl’s scheming antics, some eagle-eyed Corrie viewers believe Carl could actually be Debbie’s son in a huge twist.

Taking to social media after what Ronnie said, one soap viewer said: “Slap us in the face with Debbie is Carl’s mother why don’t you”, while a second wrote: “Still thinking Carl’s gonna be Debbie’s son.”

A third said: “I’m starting to raise a suspicious eyebrow at the idea of Debbie being Carl’s mother?” A fourth added: “I got this vibe too when Carl and Debbie shared that emotional scene in the Rovers recently. Would Carl manipulate his own mother though? Unless he doesn’t know about Debbie being his biological mother.”
