Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer to Star in New Series From ‘Yellowstone’ Creator Taylor Sheridan
Taylor Sheridan is at it again, this time delivering a very different kind of television series in the form of The Madison, starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer.
According to People magazine, the project marks Sheridan’s “most intimate work to date,” following Pfeiffer and Russell’s characters, the Clyburns, as they adapt from life in New York City to the sprawling valley of Madison River, Montana.
“A profound love story channeled through a deeply personal family drama about resilience and transformation,” the show marks the latest expansion of Sheridan’s fast-growing Yellowstone universe, offering a more romanticized exploration of its lead characters and country settings.
The new series’ announcement also gives fans a first look at Russell and Pfeiffer’s characters within the show’s settings, showcasing the Clyburns as they adapt to life on the rolling plains.
In addition to the two lead stars, The Madison will also feature a massive ensemble cast that includes Wayward‘s Patrick J. Adams and Lost‘s Matthew Fox.
According to the announcement, the series will premiere on Paramount+ on March 14, with a total of six episodes making up the show’s inaugural season.
Over the past few years, the 55-year-old Sheridan has remained hard at work building up his rapidly-expanding Yellowstone universe, a Paramount Network series that ran from 2018 to 2024.
Following the overwhelmingly positive reception of Yellowstone, Sheridan delivered several new series set within Yellowstone’s canonical universe, including the spin-off series 1883, 1923 and, most recently, Marshals.
Additionally, the Sicario screenwriter has worked on several other prominent series that have continued to delight fans across the nation, including Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Lionessand Landman.
The Madison marks the tenth TV series that Sheridan has personally created or co-created, as well as the seventh major TV series he’s made for Paramount.
