Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 Trailer Sees Stabler’s Mom Worrying for His Life: ‘Do Not Make Me Bury You’

The official trailer for season 5 of Law & Order: Organized Crime dropped on Wednesday, March 19, featuring star Christopher Meloni returning as Detective Elliot Stabler alongside his family and his team at the Organized Crime Control Bureau.

“Bless me Father for I have sinned,” says Stabler, who is beginning a confession to a priest during the clip’s opening.

“I have promised people that I would save them, but I have not been keeping my word,” he continues. “I’m gonna do everything I can to stop it, so I guess we should add prideful defiance to my list of sins, huh?”

According to the trailer, season 5 will see “the threat come home” for Stabler, as he will have to “put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice,” the network previously said.

The series also stars Dean Norris as Randall Stabler, Danielle Moné Truitt as Ayanna Bell, Rick Gonzalez as Bobby Reyes and Ainsley Seiger as Jet Slootmaekers, and guest stars Ellen Burstyn as Stabler’s mother, Bernie, and Nicky Torchia as Stabler’s son, Eli, will also return.

As the trailer continues, Stabler — seemingly under surveillance — leaves the church shortly before a nearby SUV explodes. He’s next seen sitting in a waiting room with his son, Eli, who’s dressed in a police uniform.

“Eli, it’s been an honor to watch you grow up to be the man that you are today,” Stabler says of his son, who expressed his desire to follow in his father’s footsteps towards the end of season 4.

A few beats later in the clip, when the two appear to be on assignment in the field together, however, Stabler asks another sergeant to take a distraught-looking Eli outside.

Bell, meanwhile, once again says she needs Stabler to go undercover as they get set to investigate a string of “serial murders.”

As the trailer then comes to a close, Stabler gets t-boned by a massive truck before flashing forward to the detective lying in a hospital bed surrounded by his family.

Bernie leans in, hovering over her son.

“Do not make me bury you,” she says.

Season 5 of Law & Order: Organized Crime will premiere its first two episodes on Peacock on April 17, followed by a new episode every Thursday. A special telecast of the season premiere will also air on April 17 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
