The New ‘Yellowstone’ Spin-off, ‘Marshals’, Is Almost Here

Yellowstone fans have cause to celebrate with the news that another series spin-off, Marshals, is officially coming to screens. Only adding to the fervor is the fact the new show will centre on the youngest of the Dutton clan, Kayce, aka heartthrob Luke Grimes.

First announced in May of 2025, Marshals marks the first Yellowstone spin-off to follow a core character beyond the flagship series, rather than jumping backward or sideways in time. The show will reportedly pick up after the events of Yellowstone, tracking Kayce as he steps into a new chapter of his life — one that leans heavily into law, order and the moral grey zones he’s long been caught between.

According to the official logline, Kayce will “”join an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

In the Yellowstone series finale, which aired in December 2024, fans watched Kayce pull off the ultimate Hail Mary — saving Yellowstone Ranch by selling the land to the Broken Rock Reservation. So, picking up where this left off, with a new career, isn’t a far stretch.

Rounding out the cast, Marshals will see several familiar faces return alongside a fresh slate of newcomers. In August 2025, Variety confirmed that Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty and Brecken Merrill will reprise their roles, ensuring the world of Broken Rock — and Kayce’s ties to it — remain firmly in play. They’ll be joined by new cast members Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means and Brett Cullen.
