Yellowstone spinoff The Dutton Ranch will be “quite different”, according to Kelly Reilly
A new Yellowstone spin-off is set to land this year, and Beth Dutton actor Kelly Reilly has teased it will be “quite different”. Following on from 1883 and 1923 comes The Dutton Ranch, which is set to pick up directly after the events that followed the finale of the original Yellowstone series.
During an exclusive interview with Digital Spy for her upcoming Sky crime thriller Under Salt Marsh, Reilly took some time to us about Dutton Ranch.
When asked if she could share anything about the project Reilly admitted: “I’m not sure if I can,” though she told us: “It’s a new show. Yellowstone was its own, fabulous complete thing and now we’re doing something quite different so yeah I’m really excited about it.”
The series follows couple Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), who are determined to guard their land from external forces.
The synopsis reads: “Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are grateful for the peace they sought, fought and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch.

“With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring [their pseudo adopted son] Carter (Fin Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”
Reilly confirmed that the cast are currently “in the middle of filming”, before adding: “I will look forward to coming back here and talking about that when that comes out for sure. Annette Bening is joining us, Ed Harris is joining us, we’ve got a great cast.”

Harris will take on the role of Everett McKinney, who has been described as “a weathered veteran and veterinarian who treats animals with compassion and understanding and has a good sense of humour” (via Good Housekeeping).
Bening has been cast as Beulah Jackson, the “powerful, cunning and charming” owner of a major ranch in Texas (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Meanwhile another Yellowstone spin-off, The Madison, is also scheduled to debut this year and you can get your first look here.

The Madison, which will debut on 14 March on Paramount+, has cast Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell as its leads and will follow a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.
Pfeiffer, who takes on the role of matriarch Stacy Clyburn, is also joined by Lost‘s Matthew Fox who will play the outdoorsy bachelor Paul.
